CAVES NORTH CORFU

EPISKEPSI

ACHNOTRIPA CAVE AND SECOND SMALL CAVE

Above the village of Episkepsi, on the slopes of Mount Skepasto and hidden in the woods Achnotripa cave is located. The cave is also called 'Misty hole' because during cold winter days a kind of vapour emerges which is visible from the village of Episkepsi. The cave is not accessible because of dense vegetation. Near Achnotripa cave there is another cave located. It is a small and deep cave which is used by wild animals to eat their prey.
